UPS is once again recognized as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute, a research-based group dedicated to identifying and sharing best practices in business ethics, compliance, corporate social responsibility, and corporate governance.
The rigorous evaluation process by researchers and analysts included reviewing the companies codes of ethics, litigation and regulatory infraction histories; assessment of investments in innovation and sustainable business practices, and corporate citizenship improvement activities; studying nominations from senior executives, industry peers, suppliers and customers; and working with consumer action groups for feedback.
UPS and Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) in Japan made the 2008 list for the Transportation and Logistics category. UPS was the sole company for the category on last year's inaugural list.
